The Be Elite Basketball League at Hayward High School - Program Overview

Be Elite was started and created by high school coaches and players that were wanting to find a way to create unique programs that would incorporate student-athletes as mentor coaches and to show youth athletes a positive, energetic, fundamental, and competitive experience.

The Be Elite Basketball program is co-ed and offered to all participants in 1st through 8th grade.

Coach Leon Hart has been coaching and training basketball since his collegiate years that date back to 2008. Hart was an assistant coach at Granada High school which played in the 2023 CIF state championship game. Coach Hart works as a carpenter during the day and was named the head coach of the Hayward High Basketball program in June.

Coach Hart’s playing career consists of multiple levels. Coach Hart played at Ohlone college and transferred to Campbellsville Kentucky then to Dominican University of California. He has also played professionally overseas. Coach Hart grew up in Hayward and is also an alumni of Hayward high school. Coach Hart is an active member of the community of Hayward.
